DevLog #0: Listing Day

Hello all,
I’m calling this Devlog #0 because Topic Creator isn’t a new release — but I never gave it the devlog love it deserved. That changes today. I want to start making more content around my tools and projects, and this one deserves to be first.
Back in school — and from a fantastic YouTube video by ExtraCreditz — I learned that every game’s theme can be boiled down to just three words. That idea stuck with me. I wanted a generator that could spark those three words at the press of a button — and so, Topic Creator was born.
Version 1.0 had a few core categories and served me well. I made a version 2 with thousands more words — over 7,000 just for Authors — but sadly lost the file. I didn’t want to go through the extreme effort of recreating it… but eventually, I did. And I’m so glad I did.
Since then, I’ve learned so much more about game design patterns and mechanical structure. That sparked the idea for an entire suite of design tools — tools to help other creators like me. I’m calling this suite: Actionary.
You can expect to hear more about Actionary in the coming months. For now, please enjoy Topic Creator — and check out PatternChooser, the second web tool in the growing suite.
Thanks for being here 🙏
Below are some images I hand drew on my iPad before tackling the GUI in Unity:
